Botox® and dermal fillers are two of the most popular nonsurgical cosmetic treatments at the Center for High Tech Dentistry. Whether you want to smooth fine lines, restore lost volume, or enhance facial contours, both treatments offer fantastic results.
Kaveh Abedini, DMD, and Simon Rosenberg, DMD, have expertise in administering Botox and fillers. Many of our patients combine these treatments to enhance their overall results. Here’s how they work and what you can expect during your appointment:
Botox is a neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes your muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines. As you age, your face develops creases when your muscles contract repetitively. Botox prevents your muscles from contracting, ultimately smoothing out wrinkles.
Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are injectable gels made from hyaluronic acid or other biocompatible substances. They add volume to areas like your cheeks, lips, and under-eye hollows and soften deep folds and wrinkles. Unlike Botox, which prevents muscle movement, fillers work by plumping and sculpting specific areas.
Using Botox and fillers together can create a more balanced, youthful look by addressing different aspects of aging.
Botox is excellent for smoothing expression lines, while fillers restore volume and enhance contours. Combined, they complement each other, leading to a more refreshed appearance without looking overdone.
There are several advantages to having the two treatments in one visit. They include:
Scheduling one appointment instead of two saves time and minimizes your visits to the office.
A combined approach allows for a more harmonious and natural-looking rejuvenation.
Botox can help prolong the effects of fillers in certain areas by preventing muscle movements that contribute to wrinkle formation.
Instead of recovering from two separate treatments, you only have one post-treatment period.
During your visit, we evaluate your facial structure and discuss your aesthetic goals. After determining the best treatment plan, we administer Botox first, followed by dermal fillers. The process typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the areas treated.
Post-treatment, you might experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising, but these effects usually subside within a few days. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately, although we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and excessive sun exposure for at least 24 hours.
Botox and fillers can give you a well-rounded, youthful appearance you can be proud of. If you’re considering these treatments, our experienced providers can develop a personalized plan that meets your needs and aesthetic goals.
